Hi All,
Israel rightly struck back against the provocations of the Iranian regime. A regime that repeatedly calls for death to the Jews and wants to wipe the only Jewish state from existence and funds numerous terrorist groups , a country flush with oil and Sun (solar power) but says they "need" nuclear power for "energy use" . Where the United States of America is chastised as the great Satan and Britain and Israel compete for the roles of lesser and mini Satan. Wherein Christians , Jews and Zoroastrians are persecuted and gays hung from cranes. This is the context . A regime that wants to murder over eight million Jews and no one in the metropolitan elite of the west gets that them getting nukes is not in Israeli interests ? Would you have allowed Nazi Germany to obtain nukes???
As a friend noted in the comments.
The response of Obama "Nobel peace" was unfortunately like that of Neville Chamberlain:
And Trump , the vilified , like Churchill.
Churchill being a interesting example as he was widely ridiculed and hated as a warmonger, a right wing fanatic, imperialist and as a failure during the 1930s. Yet when Britain needed a man to stand up to Nazism and when more moderate, sensible people wanted to negotiate with Hitler - something which he would have done!- Churchill alone said "sod off ". The price was British deaths in millions, cities reduced to ash in the blitz and the loss of super power status. But Nazism was crushed and Hitler did not complete his wish to exterminate every last Jew from this earth. If we can be thankful for anything the British ever did it was that defiance, rallied by Churchill, against the odds in those years.
The vilified man who despite his ridiculous hyperbole and general idiocy has brought north Korea to the diplomatic negotiation table & gets when a deal is crap. If Obama or Hillary had done even that then they'd be stratospheric orgasms on the left....
Unfortunately the Jewish people will no doubt suffer. But has it ever been another way? We have been struck by the hand of Pharaoh and the Romans, Muhammad's armies and the might of the Spanish inquisition , the pogroms of Imperial Russia , the grand Mufti and the Nazis, the Arabs after Jews had the gall to declare an independent Jewish state . But now when the hand of evil strikes the Jewish people, the Jewish people can strike back. And so we have. And so we will.
Never again.
Stand with Israel
Stand proud
And tall as free Jews .
As long as in the heart within,
The Jewish soul yearns,
And toward the eastern edges, onward,
An eye gazes toward Zion.
Our hope is not yet lost,
The hope that is two thousand years old,
To be a free nation in our land,
The Land of Zion, Jerusalem.
Our hope is not yet lost,
The ancient hope,
To return to the land of our fathers;
The city where David encamped.
As long as in his heart within,
A soul of a Jew still yearns,
And onwards towards the ends of the east,
His eye still looks towards Zion.
As long as tears from our eyes
Flow like benevolent rain,
And throngs of our countrymen
Still pay homage at the graves of our fathers.
As long as our precious Wall
Appears before our eyes,
And over the destruction of our Temple
An eye still wells up with tears.
As long as the waters of the Jordan
In fullness swell its banks,
And down to the Sea of Galilee
With tumultuous noise fall.
As long as on the barren highways
The humbled city-gates mark,
And among the ruins of Jerusalem
A daughter of Zion still cries.
As long as pure tears
Flow from the eye of a daughter of my nation
And to mourn for Zion at the watch of night
She still rises in the middle of the nights.
As long as the feeling of love of nation
Throbs in the heart of a Jew,
We can still hope even today
That a wrathful God may have mercy on us.
Hear, oh my brothers in the lands of exile,
The voice of our Prophets,
Who declare that only with the very last Jew,
Only there is the end of our hope!
As long as in the heart within,
