Chapter 2 is brief :
Percy looked incredulously at Brayfield ' you mean you can't translate this?'
'Of course ' what does this young whipper snapper think I've been doing?
Seeing the somewhat confused look on his assistance face Brayfield sighed ' it says , in the Greek at least, ' greetings , to find out more open the jar, when the jar is not a jar'.
'Well that's easy then'
'Is it old boy?'
'Well what's that?' Percy said pointing to the casket .
'A casket'
' which is what we should try to open'
' Which means you are the student and I am the master and incidentally why I shouldn't take on postgraduates from the old polies . Look at that word there - pithos- or large jar . Not casket, coffin or box : I had the same problem with Pandora and her pithos .'
'So...'
Brayfield's eyes seemed to glow ruby red as his host Re wanted to speak I filled her Pithos, well with a different host
' I didn't realise you had been on Earth so long'
Only 10,000 years
' And the most memorable with moi! ' interjected Brayfield
Actually that was either Cleo or Temujin his host mused.
' Even so , we have a question : Where is the large jar?
And another : what and why is that casket there and not the jar ?
'Chaps you may as well add another one'
Which is what?
'The riddle on the stone and in fact why is there a stone on Mars , written in Greek and Aramaic and as some yet unknown, presumably Martian or extra terrestrial language with a riddle on it in the first place?
