It MUST be a woman or not

As usual a guardian article explains exactly why I cannot be a third wave feminist /  frothing at the mouth social justice warrior.

The idea that a woman (above a man) should  be chosen to land first on Mars just because she's a woman is exactly the kind of argument women have in the past said about chauvinistic thought. In short , women having equality is not and should not be about putting men down, overlooking them or hating them. In fact real and genuine equality doesn't work in that way and preferably should be merit based.  If the best captain or leader for a one way ticket to mars is a woman so be it. But that decision shouldn't be based on political decisions over gender discrimination / equality.

If Martians exist, I really doubt they'd care about the gender of an alien setting foot on their planet. But in the SJW , one could imagine them bullying everyone else into asking them to leave  , should aliens land on earth and  have an all white, cis gendered male crew.
